======== First production currently in rehearsal. Show opens 18th December =========

Vailplays.co.uk is delighted to announce that Alexander Vail has completed his commission to write the pantomime for the 2009/2010 season at Beckenham Theatre Centre. The script was commissioned in July 2009 and completed in September 2009. The play is currently in rehearsal, being directed by Tim James.

The famous tale of Dick Whittington - the boy who travelled to London to make his name and his fortune - has been popular in England since the fifteenth century. Part true story (he really did exist, he really did fall in love with Alderman Fitzwarren's daughter; and he really did become one of the richest and influential men in London), part Persian myth (which may explain the cat!), his adventure has survived the ages through the magic of pantomime.

This exciting, fast-paced, modern production of one of the best-ever pantomime stories opens at Beckenham Theatre Centre on 18th December 2009. Tickets are available from the Box Office on 07905 744 991.

A small number of complimentary tickets for agents, publishers and theatre people are available directly from Alexander Vail

More information is available on the Beckenham Theatre website

Can they stop King Elvis’ marriage to the beautiful, but dastardly Queen Arachnida? Can the dwarfs - Humpy, Grumpy, Stumpy, Lumpy, Rumpy, Pumpy and Bob - protect the princess? Will Prince Valentino arrive in time to save his one true love from a fate worse than death? This fast paced adventure, with music, song and dance, is fun for all the family!
