(3 females; 3 males. Various rooms in a house in the suburbs.)

CHARACTERS:

George A sales manager, mid 40s
Marge A housewife, also mid 40s
Pet Their daughter, 22, and still at home
David Their son, 17, lives in the basement
Simon Their eldest son, 23, lives in a bedsit
Barbara Rich, alcoholic, divorced next-door neighbour, 50s

Summary:

This classic style British sitcom portrays middle class, middle England at its funniest. George is successful, but unappreciated and unfulfilled. His wife Marge is bored to the point of insanity, with only her thinner and more glamorous best friend Barbara for company. Pet refuses to get a proper job or a stable relationship, and so refuses to leave home. David behaves suspiciously, living like a hermit in the darkness under the house, surfing chat-rooms and living a virtual life. Simon has a burgeoning career and his own place, but has skeletons in the closet.

In the first seven episodes, we watch them cope with redundancy, selling the family home, affairs, prostitution, gambling, transvestism and alcoholism. In this initial series, each character has one episode from their viewpoint, so we learn about every aspect of this typical British family from all angles.

Summary:

In this one-off 50 minute family drama, written for US television, Anthony is tired of playing it safe. He has a medical condition which means he cannot undertake any rigorous exercise, but he decides he wants to fulfil a lifelong ambition, and risk death to run the New York marathon. This screenplay follows his character and his family, as he trains for the most challenging and dangerous thing he’s ever done. This is an inspiring tale of a man who must overcome the odds to achieve his dreams.

Summary:

This is a one-off 50 minute television drama, set in the run up to Christmas. Nick has been made redundant and is sinking into a pit of depression, when he accepts a temp job, as a Father Christmas in a shopping centre. The extraordinary experience which follows saves his sanity, and probably his marriage. A life-affirming teleplay.
