Beckenham Theatre Centre is
managed by a board of up to 16 trustees (currently 10), elected annually
by a majority vote at the members' AGM. While some look after specific
aspects of our work, they operate with collective responsibility for the
overall management of the theatre. They bring a wide range of specialist
knowledge and experience to their roles, and all volunteer their time
to do so.
They meet formally every five to six weeks. The trustees represent members'
interests, so if you have any issues you would like raised at a trustee
meeting, or if you would like information about how to become more involved
in a particular area, feel free to contact any of the board, using the
details listed in the
latest newsletter.

Chaperones needed!
- Would
you like to experience a bit of Christmas magic this December?
-
Would you like to spread a bit of festive joy?
- Would
you like to give the children at our theatre a gift that costs nothing,
but will let them enjoy the panto season?
Of course you would!
If you have a chaperone
licence or a CRB form, and / or a current First Aid qualification, and
a few hours free over the panto season, we need you! Children performing
in plays at the theatre now need to be supervised by chaperones approved
by the London Borough of Bromley. Without registered chaperones, we simply
cannot let children perform. Chaperone licences are free and easy to apply
for. If you already have a Bromley CRB check, you could be a licenced
chaperone within a few weeks if you apply now - just in time for the start
of the panto season!
If you’re interested
in helping out, but don’t have a CRB check, don’t worry! Apply
for a chaperone licence now, and you can join the party at our children’s
productions in May and October!
Our children are beautifully behaved (Oh no, they’re not! Oh yes,
they are!) and just need to have an adult around during the performance.
If you could spare a few hours to supervise them, you’d not only
get a little of the Christmas panto magic, you’d also get enough
of that lovely, warm, good-deed glowy feeling to see you through the winter
months!
To volunteer to chaperone or act as a first-aider, or for more information,
please e-mail Louise. Alternatively,
you can request a chaperone application pack directly from Bromley council
by contacting Lucy Jones.
