YOUTH AND CHILDREN'S THEATRE:

Our children's theatre (for children aged 8-14) meets every Saturday in term-time, and teaches a vast array of stage skills, from movement and projection, to singing and dancing, through a variety of improvisations, games and other activities.

Our youth group (for teenagers aged 14-18) meets every Thursday evening in term-time and continues to build on the lessons learnt at the children's theatre. They are encouraged to express themselves through drama, dance and song, and learn important skills for anyone interested in the performing arts.

The children's theatre was first formed in 1948, and has continued to be a vital part of BTC ever since. The children have the opportunity to perform in two full productions each year, timed to coincide with the May and October half terms, and auditions are open to Children's Theatre and Youth Group attendees, as well as new faces.

Both groups are free to attend for children of members, although capacity is limited, and waiting lists to join can be long (depending on the time of the year). If you, or a member of your family would like to join one of these groups, please contact Louise Solts. Please note that a huge amount of (voluntary) work goes into running the children's and youth groups, and it is hoped that parents of children involved will support the theatre by attending as many shows and social functions as possible, as well as helping out backstage, with costumes or chaperoning duties as necessary.
